ROCHESTER, NEW YORK; June 20, 2018: AstraPouch® today announced the launch of a new concept in soft packaging for cold brew coffee. Marrying the eye-catching aesthetics of its custom-printed pouches with the cost-effectiveness of its label-ready pouches, the new Printed Label-Ready Coffee Pouch offers both form and function.

The new pouch is a variation of the company’s popular AstroPaq® 1.5 pouch, says Dave Moynihan, President of AstraPouch®. “We’ve worked with the cold brew coffee industry since it took the beverage market by storm a few years ago. Now, we’re pleased to offer a printed pouch just for coffee that’s easily customizable by individual sellers.” The cold brew pouches are pre-printed with a blue and tan design that features a coffee bean illustration and the words “Cold Brew Coffee.” Manufacturers/distributors customize the packages with their own labels featuring their logo, artwork, or lettering.

Available in the 1.5L/50.7oz size, the new pouch shares the convenience and environment-friendliness of all AstraPouch’s products. “Our pouches are durable, lightweight and convenient—and they have an 80% reduced carbon footprint versus glass bottles,” says Erica Graham, VP of Finance & Operations at AstraPouch. PAC, the Packaging Association of Canada, is a non-profit corporation that drives for progressive change in the packaging value chain. Its annual Awards Gala, begun in 2008, is the longest-running sustainable packaging competition.

AstraPouch® announces short-run printing of full-color pouches

Significantly reduced minimum order quantities

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK; October 13, 2014: AstraPouch® announced today that it is now offering digitally printed AstroPaq® pouches at a low minimum quantity of 1,000 pouches per SKU. Pre-printed pouches had previously only been available in quantities of 25,000 or more. With this change, fully branded pouches will be more accessible to wineries of all sizes.

Traditionally, due to size and material requirements, pouches had to be printed using flexographic or gravure processes. Groundbreaking advancements in wide-web digital printing equipment, however, have changed that. “Since the day we introduced the AstroPaq® pouch, wineries have repeatedly asked if we could lower our minimums,” says Dave Moynihan, president of AstraPouch®. “Now, thanks to this technology and the flexibility afforded by digital printing, we’re finally able to oblige. It’s very exciting.”

The new minimum quantity for the digitally printed full-color pouches is 1,000 pouches per SKU, as opposed to 25,000 per SKU for flexo printing (total orders across SKUs must meet a 5,000-pouch minimum).

Erica Graham, Director of Marketing and Finance at AstraPouch®, shares Moynihan’s enthusiasm. “We’re excited that even more of our clients can now reap the benefits of full-color, fully branded pouches. With the lower minimum, the cost of entry is significantly reduced—but there’s nothing sacrificed either, because the print quality is superb.”

The company will continue to offer its label-ready white pouches as well as the flexo-printed full-color pouches for higher print runs. The AstroPaq®750 is available pre-printed, where the entire pouch is printed with the winery’s artwork, or label-ready, where the winery uses its existing bottle label and applies it directly to the white pouch.
